Is there any company out there that still hire people over age 55? Especially those with a strong work ethic, very low absenteeism, dedicated, and treats co-workers the way they want to be treated? I'm not talking about part time work, I'm talking Full time with benefits.
Apparently my years of experience in Pro Video production doesn't mean crap anymore. A job I applied for in the Twin Cities for Video Production specialist about two months ago was one I felt 95% qualified for. Yesterday, I got a reject email. I never even got a phone interview.
This job entailed many similar video projects that I did at PCCEO. My resume does not list the years I worked, but on some applications you to list when you graduated from college. In my case, that was Fall of 1980. I feel I need to list my years at PCCEO, because that's where I have the bulk of my video experience.
Just because I am 60 does NOT mean I am about to retire. I suspect age discrimination exists, but can't prove it.
I currently have 2 part time jobs, one where I've delivered restaurant food for 5 years. The other, about 7 months, but don't see any opportunity in being a news photographer. Any other news position requires a journalism degree.
I need to add that I am looking for a position that I can meet or exceed expectations. Another reason is that my wife is looking to retire early next year, and I will need something with health insurance.

Ideas are encouraged. Thanks!
F**k these insane trackers, this place is not a healthy debate of issues anymore, just a bunch of folks trying to outdo one another. Where is the cancel account button?
