My husband bought a can of Pabst coffee beverage somewhere here in Peoria this week and said it was really good.

Peoria Heights, not Peoria and we never recovered from that.DennisinMH wrote: ↑Sat Jun 20, 2020 8:25 pm Ugh, to me, Pabst and coffee don't mix. After Pabst closed in Peoria, I switched to Budweiser. If I tasted a Pabst after that, it tasted too much like butter. But that's me.
Pabst Brewing Co. had two plants in Peoria itself: Plant No. 2, the malt house located at the Ft. of MacArthur Highway (between the Cedar Street Bridge and Hiram Walker & Sons. It closed in July 1980. Plant No. 4 on Wayne Street included a corn mill ("grist mill"), which produced corn grits for company breweries, and an industrial products division which was renamed "PMP Fermentation Products" in 1982. That portion is still in operation, and much expanded, under different management. The corn mill closed at the end of 1984.Pock wrote: ↑Sat Jun 20, 2020 8:32 pmPeoria Heights, not Peoria and we never recovered from that.DennisinMH wrote: ↑Sat Jun 20, 2020 8:25 pm Ugh, to me, Pabst and coffee don't mix.
