I know how Peorians got upset when PPS closed many schools to save money. In District 102 in NP-MH, that's not necessarily the case. It's simply that enrollment has dropped from 622 in 2010 to 322 in 2020. Parents in this district like the system as classrooms are not packed. I don't have figures on how much money will be saved.
I just know that both my daughters did well in those schools. In fact, when my older daughter was in 2nd grade, that was when she decided she wanted to be a teacher when she grew up. And she never let go off that goal. Taking Spanish in high school helped her decide to be a Spanish teacher.
