Peoria Police Homicide
PPD Incident #20-26923

(Peoria, IL) - Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at approximately 10:51 pm, Peoria Police responded to a residence in the 1700 block of W Thames regarding a report of trouble between a male and a female. Dispatch further advised responding officers the call was upgraded to a male shot in the head.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim with an apparent gunshot wound to the head inside of a residence. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Peoria County Coroner was on scene. Further information regarding the identity of the victim will be released by the Coroner at a later time.

This incident is under investigation.

What does that bring the total to for 2020? How many homicides did we have this year?

Based on what I've read, sounds like a domestic dispute that ended badly. Also, the location is north Peoria near Pioneer Parkway, not the South End or East Bluff.
F**k these insane trackers, this place is not a healthy debate of issues anymore, just a bunch of folks trying to outdo one another. Where is the cancel account button?

Do you know what exact street this occurred on? I live up by Northpoint and we’ve not heard anything about this.

I read it but don't remember but it wasn't far from Northpoint on the other side of Knoxville.

There was a shooting overnight at Arcadia and Wisconsin which is in the EB.
Why do I feel some sort of ridiculous retort will occur in 3.........2........1...........

The last homicide in 2020 will not result in charges against the 17 year old shooter. The states attorney determined it was self defense as the juvenile was protecting his mother from his stepfather. This was reported on WMBD a couple days ago.
