This from a FB friend who works in retail.
A co-worker posted on FB that he has COVID. Who does that? Now, their employer was contacted Thursday morning that he was sick, with symptoms. wouldn't be in to work for a few days. Saturday night he did the post. The employer tried without success in contacting this employee by phone to learn if he got tested, and what was the result. This is not a young kid, btw. Now, the other employees who worked closely with him are in a quandary of whether they should get tested, or is he just pranking the store to get paid time off? That FB post has since been removed.

F**k these insane trackers, this place is not a healthy debate of issues anymore, just a bunch of folks trying to outdo one another. Where is the cancel account button?

Update on this precarious situation.
My FB friend said that the retailer finally got in touch with the employee, who said he did get tested, but tested positive for antibodies.
Don't know if he'll receive any discipline action.
But it sure put a scare into all the retail store's employees, enough where some may have decided to get tested themselves.
