Despite being quarantined until Thursday, wife and I managed to get out, finish all of our birthday and Christmas shopping. Took today to celebrate 3 birthdays happening this week: Wife's, older daughter's (she was born on wife's birthday), and grandson's 3rd. We had to travel to Springfield since older daughter is due for 2nd grandson's birth in about 2 weeks, been told not to travel; however, today, she looked like she could deliver this week. We'll know more Wednesday after her next doctor visit. We're already making plans to celebrate Christmas with family in Springfield on Sunday, since I may be on call Christmas Day (checking tomorrow for sure).

With all this potential hustle and bustle going on, I'll be absent from here for a few more days.
Wishing everyone a Safe and Merry Christmas!

Well, a little issue called COVID exposure has thrown a monkey wrench into our Christmas plans.

My Springfield daughter and husband found out Tuesday that their 3 year old son was exposed to another child that tested positive for COVID. The other child's parents never told the daycare that a test result was pending, and still sent him. Now, my grandson has to quarantine for 14 days, because his 90 day immunity ran out after he tested positive back in August. And that day was his birthday, and he didn't get to celebrate or pass out treats.

Obviously, daughter and hubby are livid with the daycare, not just because of not knowing, but the teacher there doesn't make the kids wear masks, saying they are too hot. My SIL reminded the administration that they just ruined Christmas for 12 other children as well. Yesterday, grandson has doctor appointment for ear infection and a rapid test. Rapid test was negative. But still has to quarantine.

So our backup plan is to meet SIL Sunday in front of their house, exchange gifts, head home and use webcam or Facebook video to watch each other open presents.

Good news is that daughter's OB appointment went well, no sign of an early delivery.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

we've had some family exposures as well, carrying on with Christmas as planned. Nobody showing symptoms, and nobody tested. Glad to hear you are okay Dennis, hadn't seen you post in a few days.
