According to the Peoria City/County Health Department, there has not been a Covid-19 related death reported in Peoria County in three weeks.

And the way to keep deaths from happening, is to get the vaccine. If you don't, then please wear a mask until 1) herd immunity is achieved, which could be months, 2) You get infected by the Covid Delta variant, resulting in treatment, severe symptoms, a ventilator, and possibly death or 3) you take 10 minutes of time out of 3 weeks and get your vaccine shots. I don't recommend J and j right now.

The deal was supposed to be, if you were vaccinated you didn't have to wear a mask. If you refused to vaccinate then you would wear a mask in public gatherings. I have a feeling a LOT of people aren't being honest.

The reported numbers don’t necessarily support that theory. Peoria County has a much smaller percentage of vaccinated people than the state as a whole, but has fewer cases and deaths:

(WEEK) -- State public health officials in Illinois are reporting 2,945 new COVID-19 cases in the last week, as the rolling positivity rate rose but to just 1.7%.

The state is now reporting a total of 1,395,497 cases since tracking began.

More than 72% of adults in the state have received at least one vaccine and 57% are fully vaccinated, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Peoria County has 44.68% of its population fully vaccinated, Tazewell County is at 44.45% and 42.5% of Woodford County is vaccinated.
