Good Economic News

Amazon is going to open a Fulfillment Center in North Pekin in 2022. Possibly 250-500 jobs, with pay estimated at $15 per hour. I try not to watch news much, as no one tells the truth anymore. But this story is good economic news for the region. Everyone here should enjoy this kind of news, whether ...

Re: Good Economic News

I should have clarified that I try not to watch national and world news. Local news outlets do a good job reporting what's going on without the political bias we see on MSM, CNN, MSNBC, Fox, OAN, and Blaze.

Stuck here a lil' longer

Hey, WAPPERS, you all probly be jumpin' for joy, cuz I ain't gonna be back in Illinois just yet. That ol' Hurricane or Tropy storm Ida gave us a good dousin' on rain in these parts in Kentucky. 'Course, if you lived up in the hills, you fine, but if your home's in a holler or near a creek, you got t...

And what's with all this tracker stuff? Is this Tazewell one of the moderators? Focus, People of WAP, focus on the Amazon ...

WAPJoe "without an example I can only answer in generic terms. The original post in this thread mentioned childish comments, and those are not very often moderated out of the political forums. If someone flags a post that violates other forum rules then it may get moderated. I also said I don'...

Re: Good Economic News

Eh, I watch a mix of local news. Sometimes WEEK, sometimes WMBD, but different times.

I do think Chris Yates does a helluva better job at weather than Chuck Collins. But that's me and my opinion.

Re: Good Economic News

Hey, some more good news here. It's not set in stone yet, but some folks say that Samsung's thinking about putting up some kind of a battery factory in Normal, right near Rivian. Guessin' Rivian would be a main customer, huh?

Re: Vaccine hesitancy highest in poor neighborhoods

How can you tell a person's political affiliation by their income? Holy prophet Batman, I agree, how does anyone know how voters in that zip code punched the ballot, whether for the decrepit Elephants or the stinkin' Donkeys? I mean, having that kind of ballot access, why that sounds like Leftist F...

Re: Vaccine hesitancy highest in poor neighborhoods

So nothing to do with income level and access to health care? I got my J & J vaccine at the South Side Mission in March. I know of 4 other people who were vaccinated there at the same 3-day event. None of us lives in the 61505 zip code. As I was leaving, one of the volunteers begged me to tell ...
