This is for the Twin Cities. Normal voted to double its motor fuel tax from 4¢ a gallon to 8¢ a gallon. It will potentially bring in $1 million dollars for roads and other improvements. Supposedly, they wanted to match Bloomington's rate, approved there 2 years ago.

I'm sure Peoria will say "Other cities are doubling their fuel tax so we should, too." Just a matter of time.

Big deal. Besides, I thought you were already driving to East Peoria to avoid it and save 5 cents a gallon?

No, I am already IN East Peoria, am aware of my fuel situation and buy gas there. And I have to go less than 200 yards from my weekly EP destination to save $.15 a gallon. And why is that? If Peoria has a five cents fuel tax, why is EP still 10-15 cents cheaper per gallon? Is there a gas truck toll bridge into Peoria that I'm missing?
