Watch out for increases

The 10th Annual White Trash Bash on the Illinois River on Sunday. Lots of boats, about 1,000 boaters. Also no masks or social distancing. Police said there wasn't much they could do to enforce safety measures.

1,000 is a lot more than 200. Just saying.

I'm not questioning you DennisinMH, but the count is a 1000 now? It was originally reported to be 500 which someone there said that was probably a stretch. I wonder why the number keeps increasing after the fact? And people wonder why there is mistrust in the media.

Newsweek reported it at 500+, are we confusing that with 200 boats?

Nice to see the Park Police following social distancing and masks while on duty. Nice selfie!

I stand corrected, somehow I read the numbers were bigger. I don't doubt it was larger than 200. The fact that Phase 4 encourages no more than 50 people at one place, indoors or out, means that in two weeks, the Tri-county area could see a spike, just like after that fight at the riverfront a couple weeks ago.

As article states, the increase this week not likely due to the Bash last Saturday. But watch out for what the numbers might be next week or around Sunday the 16th.
