African-American owned businesses highlighted on “Black Friday”

PEORIA (HOI) - A local fraternity is working to bring attention to minority businesses across the heart of Illinois.

"Members of Alpha Phi Alpha are promoting African-American owned and operated businesses through "Black Fridays."

Friday, they stopped by ‘Popcorn Heaven’ at 609 West Lake Avenue, a family project of owners Gregory and Joanne Young. For them it's a chance to bring the focus back to local businesses like theirs and use it as an example for anyone looking to start a business of their own."

I’ve been a customer of this business for years. Luv their popcorn❤️ My dear friend Mark Linder, who died from a brain tumor at the age of 31 and worked with me and a few other people to create the Annual Walk For The Mind for Brain Tumor Research fundraiser in Peoria, introduced me to this business several years ago.
