Porch piracy probably happens more than we think it does. It's just not always reported to the police. The theft in this case was reported to police and USPS.

"On Thursday evening around 5:00 pm we had mail and packages stolen from our mailbox. We saw it happen. Juvenile on a bike. Very bold. It’s so frustrating! But thanks to wonderful neighbors who found some of our mail and brought it to us. Keep an eye out and definitely say something if something seems out of place or suspicious."

In response to a comment, the OP said, "we are actually closer to Junction City. I’ve never seen the kid before. We have a photo but it’s really blurry. He was on what appears to be a light blue bike and had a black and white backpack on."

I didn't see any police reports on it Friday, but the reporter I was with might have. I'm assigned to review police reports again today, will take a look at it.

It's bad enough juveniles can't find things to do besides stealing cars and shooting guns because of disputes as petty as a dice game (yeah, I know, that was adults). Now they're resorting to stealing packages and mail? SMH.
Police can't be everywhere. These days neighbors have to keep closer eye on people that they know don't live in the neighborhood.

Just one more government program should fix it, right?

What is your solution? Obviously you must have one. I mean you criticize everything that others try to do, so you clearly have solutions to the problem. Go ahead,...
