Positive News thread

With so much negative news stories and negative comments, no matter if on Yahoo, FB, Twitter, or local forums, I felt it was time to highlight positive stories from various media sources. It won't be restricted to Peoria. Examples: celebrating community, upcoming events, fundraisers, and encouraging neighbors and Neighborhoods to improve their areas. Upfront, what I post won't always be from where I work, but it won't be excluded. If a positive story source has a paywall. I will mention it, but not the link.

I just ask that no negative feedback is wanted or needed here. If you want to add negative feedback, start your own Negative News Thread. If you disagree with what I post, simple click 'back' on your device, and skip this thread altogether. There's nothing wrong with posting things that are positive. Thank you.

In case you weren't able to get down to the Riverfront for the Park A Palooza Drone Light show (as I wasn't), someone posted a YouTube video of it. Even without listening to the sound, the different designs and arrangement of drones is out of this world.

A Living Assisted facility in East Peoria celebrating the birthday of one of Illinois's oldest citizens: who turned 107!

And other than having to recently start using a wheelchair, and some hearing issues, she looks great.

Disclosure: I was involved in this story.

Positive news. It looks like one of the people shot last night is going to be OK.

More positive news. Only one murder on Juneteenth weekend. Good job, Peoria!

A.shooting or homicide no matter how many people were hurt or killed is NEVER positive News. This is NOT the intent of this thread. With all due respect, I think it's Off Topic.

Try posting these in a local news or politics thread instead. I'm sure you'll find some way to blame the Mayor about it.

I don't get it. Only one person was killed on probably the most violent weekend of the year nationally, and you don't think that's positive?

NO! One young person was killed. Another boy had a gun shot to his hand. That is not positive either.

You're just not getting the purpose of this thread. And I feel sorry for you.

I guess it's not positive news that of the three people shot this weekend, only one passed away. I guess you're a glass half empty sort of guy.
