10-14” possibly more expected Tues night into Thursday as the “most significant winter storm in over a decade” to hit Central Illinois.

This is one case where I hope forecasters are wrong. Latest FB update from Chris Yates at Noon Sunday said Peoria had a higher chance of getting 3" vs. 6".
I don't trust sites like AccuWeather, I stick with the NWS or local TV meteorologists.
Just pulled up the NWS latest with winter Storm watch announcement. They're saying possibly 8 inches or more by Thursday night.
As long as I don't have to drive through heavy snow early Wednesday morning to video (and broadcast live) Wildlife Prairie Park waking up Gertie the Groundhog, I'll be happy.

Illinois Storm Watchers are still predicting 12-18" for the Peoria area. If they update I'll post.
Not saying they are more or less accurate than the local guy. Just a different source.

WMBD latest forecast through Thursday is 8-12 inches. I'd rather have that than 12-18.
And not knowing what type of snow it is, makes me want to put fresh gas in snow blower, as it hasn't been used in about 3-4 years. But if snow is heavy, it won't blow well. I've mostly used snow shovel for driveway.

If it’s heavy snow don’t wait until it’s over to shovel. That kind of shoveling is a widow maker. I’d rather shovel my driveway 2-3 times than drop dead in it.

Oh, I know, I try to go out every hour and shovel, darkness or not.
I talked to Adam and Chris earlier today, they're thinking there could be 4-5 inches on the ground by 6 am Wednesday. And that the Groundhog Day event could be canceled. Last year, it was just staff and media, done virtually.

Holy Snowmageddon, hope that doesn't happen!! WEEK predicting 10-14", WMBD 8-12", WCIA predicting 12-18" for much of their viewing area that includes Champaign, Bloomington, and Springfield.
I go in at 4 am, but no Groundhog Day shoot. Looks like Live Shots during the morning shows on the Winter Weather storm from wherever the producers want me and the reporter to go to.

Well the Groundhog Day shoot is cancelled.
.Wildlife staff are recording a video of waking up Gertie, sending it to media. But I'm still on for 4 am with a reporter to do Live Shots about the snow storm wherever the early morning producers send us. After getting off at 1230 pm, if nothing else is going on...even though I live in MH, if the roads are terrible, WMBD will put me up in a hotel overnight since I'm also working early on Thursday. I'm hoping I can get home. Another photographer lives further away .near Tremont, though.
