Back to Paper

Peoria County Board voting to purchase new voting system for elections. Turns out it's what Tazewell County has been using as long as I've been voting: paper ballots where you fill in the circle with a marker, then take ballot to a scanner which scans and drops it into the sealed ballot box.
With all the accusations from the 2020 election of electronic machines "switching" votes (don't think it happened in Peoria county), the votes will still be counted electronically via the scanner, but the paper ballots will be the backup in case of an audit. No more using an interface with a dial to select your candidate.
