I just saw that. Wow. What a hit to the local Chillicothe economy.

Eh...not as bad as you would think. Kroger and the liquor stores see a lot of sales during the event, but few other businesses do. In fact, some restaurants end up closing for the weekend because the event-goers don’t eat there, and the locals don’t want to get caught in the traffic.
The city does get a small amount from each ticket sold (less than $1 each, if I remember correctly), and I don’t know how/if that will work this year. Goldberg is being a 🤬 and calling it a postponement, not a cancellation. If you’ve already bought your ticket, it is good for the event...in May of 2021. Refunds will only be issued if you make a specific request, in a manner yet to be made known.
So, does Chillicothe get their cut this year, or not until next May? We shall see.
