Oh, just found out a few minutes ago that WMBD is also Livestreamimg the ceremony on CiProud and WMBD Facebook. Swearing in of new police chief. Also, you're chance to hear if the Mayor will comment on the violence.

Were there any substantive comments from the mayor?

Here are some links. Check it out yourself. WMBD did 3 Live Shots with a VO (Video Only) footage, and 3 different SOTs (Sound on Tape, obviously tape no longer used but term is)

Here is the entire ceremony. Caution, the audio is garbage, because of the way the City has their PA system set up. Both WEEK and WMBD photographers tried to clean it up, but not successful.

The City of Peoria has a video with better sound on their YouTube Channel.

I just watched her speech. As I thought would happen, she said nothing of substance. She did quote a Bible verse completely out of context though.

Sounded perfectly supportive of the new Chief. Was she supposed to steal his moment with some old testament fire and brimstone passage? Seriously dude, you're playing the same broken record to the three hardcore righties left on WAP.

I would prefer that non-believers don't quote the Bible. She still didn't say anything of substance regarding the recent violent crime wave.

And exactly how do you know Mayor Ali is a non-believer? Seems like a pretty big leap to lump her into that category when you don't agree with her presentation.

Do you really think I concluded that because of one speech? First, she is a Leftist. Leftism is completely contrary to the Bible. Also, I have never heard her give a testimony or even mention the name of Christ. These are both huge red flags.

Gasp, there might be some believers who try to maintain a little discretion with the separation of church and state. How about you hold off on her crucifixion until after the Mayor's prayer breakfast? Should be in September, but who knows, it might be nefariously canceled by the Covid devil.
