Train Derailment in Normal

Freezing temps probably caused the derailment.

Extreme cold can prevent necessary flexibility needed to reduce rail stress as heavy trains roll over them. If stress is too great, rail will break. I suspect that is what happened to train Z-G4MQ (Intermodal, Global 4/Joliet to Mesquite/Dallas, TX) at Normal around 5:00 this morning.
