@Toldyouso, why won't you reveal your idea, plan or suggestion? You seem totally obsessed with this topic and making Mayor Ali sound like she is the whole problem. Please, give some input.

Just quoting facts:
There have been 10 homicides in Peoria since Rita Ali was sworn in, roughly 60 days ago. Prior to her swearing in, there was an average of 1 homicide per month. Now, a Black man is murdered every 6 days, on average.
How many more people of color will have to bleed out before Mayor Ali tells us her plan to stop the violence?

What do you think she should do?
What would you do if you were in her position?
Do you have any ideas or suggestions?

Council members seem “obsessed” with the violence, but still nothing from Mayor Ali:
“Rising gun violence in Peoria was the major topic of conversation at the most recent City Council meeting Tuesday evening.

In the wake of Peoria's 17th homicide Monday night, which left a 23-year old dead from gunshot wounds, City Council discussed how it could combat gun violence.

"Frankly, there have been many things that have happened in recent days and weeks that make me wonder if we're not a city spinning out of control," said Chuck Grayeb, Peoria's 2nd district councilman.

He referred to it as an "epidemic" of gun violence. He said he believes Peoria's best days are ahead of it, but it is time for the city to deal with the "issues our constituents are concerned about."

Peoria City Council member Andre Allen said it was sad to see the list of names of those killed by gun violence in Peoria, including some of his former classmates. Council member Denise Jackson called it an "issue of violence that doesn't want to stop."

Terry Burnside, who serves on Peoria's police advisory committee on community relations, referred to a "vicious pattern" of violence in Peoria when he addressed the council Tuesday night.

Burnside, who had a brother killed by gun violence in Peoria 32 years ago and a son and daughter shot in Peoria, asked the City Council to adopt "evidence-based strategies" to gun violence that go beyond just policing.

Burnside, who operates House of Hope Peoria, has worked with multiple anti-violence groups in Illinois, such as Live Free Illinois, the Heartland Alliance, the Crime Lab at the University of Illinois-Chicago and others, in an effort to learn how gun violence can be curbed in Peoria. He believes it involves "building bridges" between communities and the police.
….
Peoria's interim police chief Doug Theobald was also called before the council to address gun violence and the recent gun store burglary in Peoria in which 22 guns were stolen, 17 of which have been recovered.
….
Grayeb said he cannot go anywhere and without people talking to him about gun violence in Peoria. Grayeb, a former educator, says the gun violence, especially involving young people, bothers him most.

"Where I go my constituents are saying 'Peoria you've got to get control of that, we don't want to be like some of the other cities that haven't got control. We want to feel that we live in a safe community where our children are safe.' It's as simple as that," Grayeb said.“

Just more talk of an obvious problem. But no real ideas or plans to stop the violence. Anybody want to offer up some answers or suggestions? Anyone?

Andre Allen, 4th District councilman, said in a Zoom interview with WMBD, that 2 homicides in a month occurred in his district. WMBD did air other comments from him Tuesday.

So who is ready to pound him about his plans?

Mayor Rita Ali did speak on the violence, during an interview with WEEK while at the opening of the HOI Fair. I saw the story on their website Monday night, but now can't find it there.

So she has not been totally silent about it.

A simple Google search found the article, but the Mayor didn’t offer any new ideas:

PEORIA (WEEK) -- The victim of a fatal shooting in south Peoria on Monday has been identified by the Peoria County coroner.

Labaron Duff, 23, was pronounced dead at 9:34 p.m. Monday after he was transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. An autopsy shows Duff had multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and likely died instantly, said Coroner Jamie Harwood.

Officers with the Peoria Police Department were called to the 1300 block of South Griswold just before 9 p.m. for reports of multiple rounds fired, when they located Duff in the 2400 block of West Starr. He was then transported to the hospital with no pulse and not breathing, said Harwood.

Duff is Peoria's 16th homicide victim this year and the seventh in the last six weeks. At the current pace, Peoria could see 30 homicides in 2021, which would be the largest single-year total this century.

Mayor Ali responded to the recent trend after the opening of the Heart of Illinois Fair.

"The gun violence is intolerable," Ali said. "We're gonna look for every resource we can, locally, statewide, nationally and private sector funding to support programs, initiatives that address gun violence in Peoria."

Bullets also stuck nearby Star Liquors. A clerk there, who asked not to be identified, says he heard the shooting happen while he was helping a customer inside.

"I heard the gunshot, and I just look at the cameras, and I see somebody lying on the ground," the clerk said.

Police on Monday said another victim was taken to an area hospital via private vehicle with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. That victim was in stable condition, according to the Peoria Police Department.

You expected a full press conference at the HOI Fair? She was there to support the opening. She may have said more about violence, but there's only so much time allotted for a News story.

Didn't have time to Google, been extra busy at work.

No, I expect her to call a press conference to discuss her plans for reversing the upward trend of murders of young Black men in the city. I doubt many people care what she had to say about a carnival and corn dogs. Why isn’t she talking about what she plans to do to save mothers from having to bury their sons?

What would YOU do to curb or better yet end this violence???
