“Gunmen shot and killed a Chicago rapper Saturday evening as he walked out of Cook County Jail where he had been held for over a year on gun charges, according to multiple sources. The woman who bonded him out and an activist who works outside the jail to assist newly-released detainees were also shot, the sources said.
Londre Sylvester, a 31-year-old who performed as KTS Dre, was pronounced dead at Mt. Sinai Hospital shortly after the 8:50 p.m. shooting near the intersection of California and 27th streets. “KTS” stands for “Kill To Survive,” a phrase he also had tattooed on his neck along with a target symbol.”

Sounds more like a revenge killing/shoot than a mass shooting. The gunmen were after him, the others just happened to get caught in it.

How is that better than a planned attack on all the victims?

It's not, and still the main reason gun violence is so bad in Chicago. Gang turf wars, drugs, and the "you shot my brother, so I'm going to kill you" mentalities.

Another mass shooting in Chicago, youngest victim was a 12-year-old girl.

CHICAGO (CBS) — Six people, mostly teenagers, were injured in a mass shooting at a West Side party Saturday night.
Five of the victims were girls and women between 12 and 19. One man in his 20s was also shot
All were alive Saturday morning and expected to recover.
Police say the victims were standing outside of a party near Ohio and Lavergne just before midnight when a dark colored SUV drove up and someone inside shot at the people on the sidewalk.
Three of the victims were taken to Stroger Hospital. A 15-year-old girl was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with a graze wound to the head. The youngest victim, who is 12, suffered a graze wound to her hand. Family members drover her to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park. The sixth victim was a man in his 20s who was shot in the backside.
Police spent the night trying to interview witnesses.
No one was in custody Saturday morning.

Make less guns available.
Stricter rules for purchasing guns.
Much harsher penalties for gun crimes. *****
More police patrol in high crime areas.
Better lighting on city streets.
Forget profiling and stereotyping. Rules are Rules.
Enforce underage curfew laws.
Educate parents and hold them responsible too.

I think the shooters should have their FOID cards taken away.
