Death Investigation
Peoria County Case# PE-23-2156
Peoria, IL

On 08/22/2023, at 4:16 am, Peoria Police, Fire, and EMS responded to the 2300 block of N. Wisconsin Ave., Peoria, for an unconscious, unresponsive female.

On arrival, Police and EMS found the female, 36-year-old Vanessa Tucker, without a pulse and not breathing. Resuscitation measures were initiated, and she was transported to OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria in grave condition. Despite aggressive resuscitative efforts, Tucker was unfortunately pronounced dead at 5:33 a.m.

An autopsy on Tucker demonstrated that she suffered asphyxiation due to suffocation. This case is being investigated as a homicide and remains under investigation by the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID).
The victim’s 17-year-old son is being charged with her death:

Let's prayerfully hope there isn't. Ridiculous for people to be out in this heat if they don't have to, let alone go out and shoot or kill people.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Well, you were only off by 48 hours:

PEORIA (25News Now) - A man is dead after a shooting in Peoria Saturday afternoon.

Spokesperson Semone Roth confirms that Peoria Police responded to the 2800 block of Northeast Madison Avenue around 1:18 p.m. after a 15-round ShotSpotter alert.

Upon arrival, officers found an adult male with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is Peoria’s 16th homicide of the year and the fourth one in a week.

This one may not be counted towards the City of Peoria homicide numbers. Laramie Liquors is not in the City of Peoria limits. However, in that section of Laramie, the border is the street. That's why both the Sheriff's office and the Peoria police department responded to the call.

We'll have to wait until someone counts it towards county homicides or City Homicides. Still, a tragedy no matter whose jurisdiction it is. Too many deaths probably due to silly disputes or family feuds.

May God comfort the family of the deceased, and put into the heart of the accused to give themselves up.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Anything to make Rita look not as bad, right?

Rita Ali and THE ENTIRE CITY COUNCIL are upset about even ONE homicide and shooting in Peoria, and Peoria County. You just like to criticize efforts to turn youth around because it doesn't fit your "Conservative Narrative" (oops, I forgot you questioned me using the word "narrative", because apparently you don't know what it means)

Well, sir or ma'am, just imagine, if all these youth programs in the city that you say wastes money....were all shut down because of no more funding....how many youth would be on the street with nothing better to do, and causing MORE CRIME? Especially if many are from homes where parents don't care enough to keep their kids busy, or just unable to control them? That's been happening for years, long before Rita Ali was elected Mayor.

From Jenny Winne, Executive Director of East Bluff Community Center said,
“You know that your kid is getting tutoring and things like that, so it’s true that if those kids aren’t utilizing those programs, we might have a lot more crime in our area than we do at this point,”

3rd District Councilman the other day said that, “You’re not going to flip a switch and take care of the problem, but it’s laying the foundation so that as these kids grow and mature, they’re going to have opportunities that the kids before them didn’t,”

Link to story since WEEK didn't do one like we did:

Just an FYI, 16 new police officers will be sworn in Monday to start training, or start shifts with the Peoria Police Department. So I'm guessing that (Your words) "Leftist" Rita Ali is not trying to defund Peoria's Police department.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

No…Laramie Liquors’ address is Peoria, IL 61605, aka Peoria’s South Side.
The red dotted line in the map below shows the borders of that zip code.

This means @AV8R was right…this was the 17th Peoria homicide this year. It’s also the 5th in a week.
