“note, NOT the administration of D150) has made a decision the first semester will be virtual.”
That would be the correct procedure. The board has the final say, not the administration. The admin is hired by the board. I’m pretty sure it is that way in all districts in Illinois.

There is no known correct decision and still unanswered questions. Haven't Valeska Hinton and the Knoxville center already started in school learning? How devastating will this be to the very effective vocational programs and advanced placement classes? Will the school breakfast & lunch program (although they are now more like snacks than meals) continue or will families incur even more expense providing food for the kids? Will large groups still be wandering the streets without face coverings and certainly not practicing social distancing? I can only hope that people begin to take the pandemic seriously and we can successfully "flatten the curve".

While this may be true, Wisconsin Avenue seemed pretty unwavering in their decision to go back to school 2-3 days a week and it seems like the board made that decision for them whether they liked or agreed with it or not.

This is a meme from one of my Conservative FB friends. In one case, he could have a point; otherwise, I'm not sure what to think. Apples and oranges, anyone?

Hmm - 27 pages of AV8R arguing every point that you made. In the end you were correct.
Ironic isn't it....

I don't take a whole lot of joy being right in this case. Buy I'm glad the teachers union fought for teachers and students.

FWIW:

That district said a survey indicated that 95% of parents wanted their children back in school.

I think that opinion has changed since our local cases have spiked. I also read that less that 1/2 of students expected had even been registered! Hopefully the announcement will help.

Yep, LovelyPita was right on D150. The schools in my school district however all start tomorrow in person. Told ya.
