As of early this morning, Chicago has seen over 600 people shot and killed since January 1st.
Wow, it sounds like you are back to advocating gun control.

So illegal guns do belong in the hands of criminals? Why are gun shops in Northern Indiana circumventing Illinois law?

Just out of curiosity, how are gun shops in Northern Indiana circumventing Illinois laws?

They aren’t. Gun shops in Indiana are required to follow federal law and Indiana law. Don’t be fooled by other narratives and gaslighting.

The discussion is in the story posted above. The shop ignored a pattern of gun purchases that amounted to gun trafficking - a violation of Federal law, @AV8R.
Gun Trafficking https://everytownresearch.org/issue/gun-trafficking/ Criminals get their hands on tens of thousands of guns every year through illegal trafficking. States with weak gun laws often serve as suppliers of guns to states with stronger gun laws. Law enforcement is constrained by insufficient laws to crack down on gun trafficking.
The U.S. lacks a strong federal gun trafficking law to crack down on illegal networks that supply guns to criminals. Prosecutors who want to fight traffickers must rely on a law that prohibits “selling guns without a federal license.” This weak law carries the same punishment as trafficking chicken or livestock. Ninety percent of the guns found at crime scenes in New York City were originally bought out of state and brought to the city illegally. A strong federal trafficking law would enable law enforcement to crack down on gun traffickers—and keep trafficked guns off our streets.

They only violated the laws OF OTHER STATES. This is no different than “pregnant persons” in Texas or Mississippi seeking abortions in Illinois, were there are no restrictions.
Back on topic: a person is murdered every 10 hours in Chicago. As of last night, 613 had been shot and killed since January 1st.

Likely murdered with an illegal gun bought in Indiana. Don’t be fooled by other narratives and gaslighting.
