The Peoria City Council discussed the upswing in violence at Tuesday night's meeting. Mayor Ali does not run the city alone, nor make decisions alone. When she speaks out, it will be after consulting the other council reps, city manager, staff, and police. That's how it should be.
Ardis never just decided to 'speak out' when there were suddenly a bunch of homicides. And yet, no criticism on him either. But then he, along with others, announced the "Don't Shoot" initiative. Who's to say another similar plan is in the works?
Here's a recording of that Council meeting, perhaps more was said about the issue than what folks here are assuming is not being said.

Thank you and have a good day.

Jim Ardis wasn't a black woman, hence no criticism from the radical right on WAP.

Are you saying that Mayor Ali made a suggestion at the council meeting about stopping the violence, but the local media didn’t report it? Perhaps you could edit the 2-hour+ video for us so we could hear her comments. Thanks!

PEORIA (HOI) -- One man is dead after a late Tuesday night shooting in Peoria.
Peoria Police say the man -- who Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said was in his 20's -- was found inside a vehicle in the 300 block of South Shelley after a multiple-round ShotSpotter alert at around 11:42 p.m. in the 1500 block of West Kettelle Street.
Officers began emergency medical treatment but the man died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
There is no suspect information and the incident is under investigation.
The man's identity and cause of death will be released after an autopsy scheduled for later Wednesday morning.
Anyone with information regarding this incident -- along with camera footage that may be important to the investigation -- is asked to call the Peoria Police Department at 309-673-4521 or anonymously to CrimeStoppers at 309-673-9000.
This is Peoria's 10th homicide since May and the 17th of 2021.

How dare you report on this without also sharing your comprehensive plan on how to combat violent crime in Peoria. Shame!

I guess I need to update the title of this thread. Within the last 20 hours, Peoria has recorded it’s 18th and 19th homicides.
I’m so sorry my reporting facts makes you uncomfortable!

Nope, I watch the news. You are just needless repetition.
