It was still a homicide. The law considers it a justifiable homicide. What it was NOT is a murder.
Maybe you should know what you're talking about before you spew your verbal diarrhea.

TWO homicides in Peoria this weekend, the 4th and 5th of 2024. Additional gunshot victims, condition unknown:
“It’s been a violent 24 hours in Peoria. Two people were shot late Saturday night in the Lexington Hills Apartment complex. One of those men suffered a graze wound while the other died at the scene. No arrests have been made in that incident.
Then, a woman was fatally stabbed a few hours later, early Sunday, in the same apartment complex.
Then just after 2 p.m., a boy was shot in the North Sheridan Road, just a few blocks from Franklin Primary School. Police said he was talking to first responders before he was transported to the hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.”

UPDATED (9:20 p.m.) — A teenager is dead after being shot near the intersection of Forrest Hill and Knoxville avenues, the Peoria County Coroner said.
That’s the word from Coroner Jamie Harwood who said the boy died in the emergency department of OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center shortly after he arrived. Harwood said he had no more details.
The homicide is the city’s sixth of the year.

Less than a week later, Peoria has another homicide.
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — One man is dead after an early Saturday morning shooting on North Gale Avenue in Peoria.
Just after 1:30 a.m., Peoria Police officers found the man with a serious gunshot wound. He was inside a car riddled with bullets.
He was taken to a local hospital where he died. His name will be released by Peoria County Coroner at a later date.
As of now, there are no suspects but the incident is being investigated by the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit.
It’s the city’s seventh homicide of the year.

Peoria’s 8th homicide of the year.
Homicide
PPD Incident #24-14471
(PEORIA, IL) Thursday, July 11, 2024, at approximately 1:47 a.m. Peoria Police were conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 2100 block of W. Gilbert when they heard gunshots nearby.
While conducting a search of the area officers located a wrecked vehicle in the front yard of a residence in the 2100 block of W. Forrest Hill.
When officers approached the vehicle, they located an adult male (44 years old) inside with an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The victim’s identity and cause of death will be released by the Peoria County Coroner.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
There is currently no suspect information. This incident is under investigation.

Peoria’s 9th homicide of the year:
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — A man was found with apparent gunshot wounds early in the morning in Peoria.
According to Peoria Police spokesperson Semone Roth, officers went to the 2500 block of West Garden Street just before 3:40 a.m. after two alerts from the ShotSpotter gunfire detection system indiccated a total of 20 rounds had been fired.
When they arrived, they found a 31-year-old man who had suffered several gunshot wounds, she said. Despite efforts to save him, the man died at the scene, she said.
The name of the man and the manner of death will be released later by the Peoria County Coroner’s office.
Currently, there have been no arrests publicly announced and there is no suspect. information. The matter remains under investigation.

Absolutely horrible.
