This article pertains to Archer Daniels Midland Co's Clinton, Iowa plant but contains a bit of local news. Strange I never saw this in the Peoria Journal Star...

Chris Cuddy, president of the company’s Carbohydrate Solutions business, said in a release. “We’ve already increased production at our Peoria, IL facility to help address the continued growing need for industrial alcohol, and adding additional capacity at our Clinton facility will help us continue to deliver the supply our customers need.”

Some of you may recall that ADM cut production at the local plant in half when it stopped producing fuel-grade alcohol there August 1, 2017. In recent months, however, I've noticed more than the usual number of loaded ADM (owned and leased) tank cars placarded for ethyl alcohol (UN 1170) on departing freight trains of various railroads here, which made me suspect alcohol production had been significantly increased. The article confirms this.
