Remembering that we are celebrating the birth of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. He is the true reason for the season.

I know it's a little early, but burning a personal day today so wife and I can finish up things at home for Christmas. We're planning on attending Christmas Eve service tomorrow night, unless it's cancelled due to cold weather (and majority of.congregation is over age 62)

Two daughters and families will be here Monday to celebrate with my wife and I, although younger daughter still having stomach flu issues. Hope she recovers enough to travel. Christmas Day still an unknown, although wife and I may be by ourselves.

Regardless, I'm wishing everyone here a very Merry Christmas and a safe one at that with this weather.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Thank you, Dennis. Enjoy your time off of work and especially the time with your family.

They want to know how much you care.

What does Jesus save people from? What must we do to be saved?

I did not write this. I’m certain some will disagree with the sentiment. There are always a few. There are a lot of people working holidays on our behalf. Firemen, paramedics, doctors, nurses, military, snow plow drivers, utility crews, the list goes on. They all deserve thanks. Merry Christmas all.

A COP’S NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

'Twas the night before Christmas,
Yet he slept all alone.
In a one-bedroom house,
Made of plaster and stone.

I had come down the chimney
With presents to give,
And to see just what man
In this small house did live.

I looked all about,
What a strange site to see.
No tinsel, no presents,
Not even a tree.

No stockings by the fire,
Just boots spit shined bright.
Then something else gleamed,
Reflecting the moonlight.

They were medals and badges,
Awards of all kinds.
And a sobering thought
Soon came to my mind.

For this house was different,
Unlike any I'd topped.
This was the home of an officer,
The home of a cop.

I'd heard stories about "them",
And I had to see more.
So I walked down the hall,
And pushed open the door.

And there he lay sleeping,
Silent and alone.
Curled up on his bed,
In this one-bedroom home.

He seemed so gentle,
His face weathered tan,
I soon understood
That this was more than a man.

For I realized the families
That I saw this night,
Owed their lives to these people
Who were willing to fight.

Soon round the nation
The children would play,
And grown-ups would celebrate
On a bright Christmas day.

They all enjoyed safety
Each month, and all year
Because of officers like this,
This man lying here.

I couldn't help wonder
How many were on patrol.
All alone on Christmas Eve
Out in the shivering cold.

I watched him for hours,
So silent and so still,
And I noticed that he shivered,
From the cold night’s chill.

So I took off my jacket,
The one made of red.
And I covered this officer
From his toes to his head.

Then I put on his jacket
With the badge of silver and gold,
With the words "Police Officer"
Emblazoned so bold.

Though it barely fit me
I began to swell with pride,
And for one shining moment
I was an officer inside.

I didn't want to leave him
So quiet in the night,
This guardian of justice,
So willing to fight.

But half asleep he rolled over,
And in a voice clean and pure
Said, "Carry on Santa - it's Christmas,
All here is secure."

One look at my watch
And I knew he was right.
Merry Christmas my friend,
Code four, 10-8, and good night.

SERIOUSLY??

I was just posting in general wishing EVERYONE (including you) a Merry Christmas.

And you STILL have to respond with a question!!??
This is NOT the category or thread to get into another discussion about religion. And I will NOT respond to this one.

Hope you and everyone else had a great Christmas, and enjoy a safe, enjoyable and prosperous Happy New Year!

Were you not "discussing religion" when you said "Remembering that we are celebrating the birth of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. He is the true reason for the season"? I was just asking for clarification on your statement. I don't think anybody is going to complain if we discuss the Gospel in General Chat.

Replying here so I don't blamed for being off topic in the other thread...

My OP:
"Remembering that we are celebrating the birth of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. He is the true reason for the season."

Where does my OP say anything about what Jesus saves people from? We were celebrating his birth! It's not like he was preaching and telling people what they must do to be saved as a baby!

If you can't figure out that my OP is a variant of phrases over the years, then I can't help you any further.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Did you not use the term "Savior"?
