Why can't people say they agree to disagree more often?
Therein lies the difference.DennisinPeoria wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 2:33 pm WMBD did decide to get a local reaction to the Pope's statement

Sorry, I still call BS on that. I figured the King of WAP, who knows it all, sees it all, would have seen the Fox or the WEEK story from LATE January and commented on it in a similar fashion. Looks like he waits until WMBD publishes a story, then decides it needs criticized, no matter if other outlets already ran it. Total B.S.. My opinion.Tazewell wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 3:01 pmTherein lies the difference.DennisinPeoria wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 2:33 pm WMBD did decide to get a local reaction to the Pope's statement

This sounds very pro-homosexuality to me. If they balanced it out by getting a statement from a conservative local priest or pastor, I probably wouldn't have brought it up.“This is borderline revolutionary for the Catholic Church. I think this pope seems historic in that way,” said Peoria Proud Board Member Nicole Livsey.
Livsey said some members of the LGBTQIA community cannot or do not practice anymore due to traditional views.
“The stigma is if you identify as LGBTQ, there is no way you can practice religion,” said Livsey.
At Peoria Proud, Livsey said they keep a close eye out for affirming faith providers.
“By affirming, what I mean is the church is welcoming to all people and willing to perform marriage ceremonies,” said Livsey.
Livsey said religion can also be thought of as a support system. She said members of the LGBTQIA community tend to feel less supported by religion, so they form their own groups.
“What you see a lot in the LGBTQ community is a created family, or what we like to call a chosen family. Those are the folks you decide to associate with and they kind of become your family. This could be because your family is not accepting, or they are still coming to terms with your sexuality,” said Livsey.
Erik Braun, a counseling professor at Bradley University, said family support plays an important role in a person’s mental health. Braun uses the Ecological Model to explain.
“In this model, it talks about the individual,” Braun said. “There are these spheres of influence, starting with the most direct. Your family and friends have the most impact on that.”
Braun said not having friends and family support during these situations can make the journey harder. Braun said it leads to feeling isolated and confused.

So allow me to express my personal views regarding LGBTQ issues. I may have stated some in the past:
1. I have no problem with men being gay and women being lesbian. However, I will cringe and look away when they are kissing or groping. If I'm invited to a gay or lesbian wedding, I won't go.
2. I hate that Supergirl and Batwoman have lesbian stories, but I watch them for the superhero action, not relationships.
3. I do not like seeing men doing the drag queen bit. Just turns my stomach sour. However, I won't support any proposed laws that would ban such activity. (don't think there are any).
4. If you're born a guy, you'll always be a guy to me no matter what. If you decide to become a woman, that's your choice. But I oppose any transexual men participating in womens sports competition.
5. . If you're born a woman, you'll always be a woman to me no matter what. If you decide to become a guy, that's your choice. But I oppose any transexual women participating in mens sports competition.
Keep on mind, my views don't necessarily reflect the views of anyone else period. And the views of anyone else don't necessarily reflect my views period.

That's nice. It doesn't change the fact that your employer is pushing a pro-homosexual agenda.DennisinPeoria wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 4:29 pm So allow me to express my personal views regarding LGBTQ issues. I may have stated some in the past:

Yeah, right sure uh huh. You would have found something else to criticize it .
You still haven't answered my question about why you didn't post and criticize the original story when WEEK and Fox News ran it weeks ago.

Maybe, maybe not. It depends on how it would have been written.DennisinPeoria wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 4:38 pm Yeah, right sure uh huh. You would have found something else to criticize it .
I did actually. Here:DennisinPeoria wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 4:38 pm You still haven't answered my question about why you didn't post and criticize the original story when WEEK and Fox News ran it weeks ago.

The Fox and WEEK articles were just reporting the pope's statement. The article I linked to today from WMBD was mostly a statement from the leader of a local homosexual group. As much as you would like them to be the same thing, they are not.
For why? The world doesn't revolve around conservative pastors. Catholicism is the largest branch of Christianity.
You mean its not the flu!?!
