I am starting to believe more and more that it is no coincidence. I think the criminals see someone who has the same skin color, and a Leftist who is not tough on crime. They know that they have a better chance of getting away with it because instead of taking on the crisis 90s and 00s New York style, the mayor is focusing on other things like "equity" and other Critical Race Theory garbage.
Peoria’s 7th homicide of 2021
So her pick for a new Chief falls right in line with that as well? He's been on the job since Friday and couldn't stop the shootings this weekend either. Have you already determined if he's a Christian or not?Tazewell wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 2:40 pmI am starting to believe more and more that it is no coincidence. I didn't realize that in addition to being Mayor, she's also supposed to be state's attorney, prosecutor, judge and jury. Wow.
F**k these insane trackers, this place is not a healthy debate of issues anymore, just a bunch of folks trying to outdo one another. Where is the cancel account button?
Another strawman. I never mentioned the chief or his faith.RPlant wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 5:28 pmSo her pick for a new Chief falls right in line with that as well? Who said or implied that? Are you talking about my reference to 90s and 00s New York? Do you know what that reference means?DennisinMH wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 5:44 pm I didn't realize that in addition to being Mayor, she's also supposed to be state's attorney, prosecutor, judge and jury. Wow.

My response was reference to this part of your post:
"I think the criminals see someone who has the same skin color, and a Leftist who is not tough on crime."
Yes, I saw the New York reference, this is about Peoria, violence, and the Mayor. With all due respect, you were off topic, whataboutism in your case.

Your response makes no sense. Does one have to be a "state's attorney, prosecutor, judge and jury" to be tough on crime?DennisinMH wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 6:03 pm My response was reference to this part of your post:

Please read about New York City and its policing methods in that era. It is very much applicable to Peoria in 2021.DennisinMH wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 6:03 pm Yes, I saw the New York reference, this is about Peoria, violence, and the Mayor. You clearly STILL don't know the definition of whataboutism. Do I need to copy and paste it again for you?
So you can't pull together a tracker for that? Why am I not surprised?Tazewell wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 8:02 amIt will accomplish nothing.DennisinMH wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 11:10 pm Let's hope the National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday will jump start some folks into the mindset to be AGAINST crime, instead of the mindset of "I didn't see anything". Or saying nothing, because it was their brother/sister/son/daughter/cousin/friend who committed the crime.
Another whataboutism. Also, I doubt that any of them had this many murders in this short of a period under their watch.

I’ve previously stated that the most homicides Peoria has seen in one year was 25, in 2019, when Ardis was mayor. Those 25 were spread out over the 52 weeks of the year. Ali has been mayor for 13 weeks, and there have been 14 Black males murdered in the city in that time. You do the math.RPlant wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 6:59 pmSo you can't pull together a tracker for that? I’d be willing to give her a pass IF she had made some attempt to address the violence within the Black community. But so far, we know more about her stance on baseball games and carnival rides than we know of her plan to stop the slaughter of young African-American males in the city she leads. Her silence is sending the wrong message.
